I stumbled upon this yummy Iced Green Tea with Lime drink at fitsugar.com  It reminds me a lot of the lime cooler you can get at Starbucks.   It calls for agave nectar, but I used organic sugar instead.

Green Tea Lime Cooler

Recipe Notes
You can make this recipe with jasmine tea for a more floral tasting drink. Triple the recipe to make a pitcher.

Ingredients
1 green tea bag
Juice from 1/2 lime
1/2-1 teaspoon agave nectar
Handful of ice
Directions
  1. Boil water and steep green tea in about 1 and 1/2 cups boiling water for about five minutes.
  2. Add in lime juice and agave nectar (or sweetener of your choice). Stir until mixed.
  3. Add a handful of ice.
  4. Drink up and enjoy!
Makes one serving.

Deals Deals Deals!! And a darn good Sangria Recipe!

Here's some good deals to help you kick off summer!

Groupon has a great deal on the Melting Pot that covers a bunch of cities in NE Ohio.  The deal is a 3-course meal that feeds two people for only $40!  It also offers the same deal that feeds four people for only $80.  The link can be found at http://www.groupon.com/deals/the-melting-pot-lyndhurst?p=1&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&sid=2ec45086-0430-4242-821d-8a4f1afb42cb&division=cleveland&user=57faf1a0dfe3762b120b36abcb4c9c67d72dcd2f428aa57a471e9323bbb75a79&date=20130608&s=body&c=deal_button&d=deal-page&utm_campaign=the-melting-pot-lyndhurst

Where to store a kayak?  I always thought "up", but how to hoist it to the ceiling by yourself?  Here's your solution!

So I finally broke down and joined Pinterest...more so for recipes than anything else.   I am heading out to a kick-off summer party this weekend and really need help making a Pisco-style Sangria. I saw Bobby Flay make one once using Blueberries, but can never find his recipe.  I'm still in search of that recipe, but I stumbled upon another one.  My oh my...it is tasty!

Interesting article about shopping on Amazon.com

saw this interesting article at http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/upgrade-your-life/amazon-shopping-secrets-152023509.html?vp=1...  thought I would share it with you

Amazon Shopping Secrets

When you shop online, you use coupon codes for almost every site EXCEPT Amazon. Do those codes exist? And how can you get even better prices at the web’s biggest superstore?
Secret Coupon Codes?
Every time I buy something at Amazon, there’s this little box that comes up during the checkout process that says, “Add coupon code for discount.” But no matter how many times I’ve looked, I’ve never found a percentage-off code on any of the good coupon sites like RetailMeNot or CouponCabin. Sure, it looks like they have those secret codes, but when you actually click on “Get Deal,” a new window pops up stating “No Coupon Required!” So I called the folks at Amazon and asked where to get one of these mythical codes. It turns out that while they do offer them, they are incredibly rare, and usually product-specific. For example, they recently offered $35 off Quicken – if you have the code – and the code was right there on the same page.
So don’t beat yourself up the next time you see the code box and you don’t have one; the Amazon code it is a unicorn. Of course, if you’ve seen a unicorn yourself, please share it on our Facebook page.
That said, there are some other, excellent ways to save:
Regular Discounts
One of the best ways to get discounts on items you frequently buy is to subscribe to it, which can save you up to 15% and get you free shipping. Not all products are available for this deal, but with tens of thousands of items listed, from diapers, to shampoo, to pet food, it’s definitely worth browsing Amazon’s Subscribe& Save page.
Secrets of Free Shipping
· You’ve probably seen the pitch to join Amazon Prime. Membership costs $79 a year for free two-day shipping, but depending on how often you shop, this mayor may not be a deal. On the other hand, you can share a membership with up to four family members or co-workers, and if you can split the cost, this can really be a huge savings. Plus, there’s nothing to keep you from signing up for a free, one-month trial when you have a bunch of purchases to make – like around the holidays.
· Amazon Student gets you the same deal – free 2-day shipping – with no annual fee, as long as you have an email address that ends in .edu.
· Amazon Mom offers the same free 2-day shipping, plus extra discounts on baby and toddler items like diapers and wipes. Despite the rather sexist title, you can even join as a dad. This membership is currently available as a free, three-month trial, after which you can expect to pay the same $79 a year as Amazon Prime members.
Timing
It’s no secret that prices fluctuate like crazy online.Tracking sites like CamelCamelCamel will show you the trends, and they’ll track prices and alert you to drops, or you can just put an item in your cart and save for later. Every time you log in from then on, you’ll get a notification about the price changes. Or, if you like window-shopping, you’ll often get the best deals by becoming a frequent browser. Within every category on Amazon (Clothing, Electronics, Grocery, etc.), search for “Deal of the Day.” There are also sites that curate the best deals. They are a little fly-by-night, but one I saw recently is called promocodes9.
Bonus Tip: Finding Really Cheap E-Books
Search “Kindle Books Under $2,” and you’ll often find a curated list of the best cheap and sometimes free reads. You don’t even have to have a Kindle to read their books; if you have a smartphone, use the Kindle app– or you can just read the e-books on your computer.

I'm back....talking "spark people, "sweeptakes", and "discount magazines"

Sorry that I took 2 weeks off....taxes, keeping New Years Resolutions, working out, kitchen remodels...all keeping me busy.

SWEEPSTAKES!
So first I want to say that I've started doing "sweeps" again.  Don't laugh...if you know me, you'll know I've won cash, vacations, etc.  I started years ago back in San Diego with Zippy H. and find them so much easier now that they are online.  My favorite sweepstakes website is +http://www.online-sweepstakes.com/directory/cash/.  Try them out!  You can make an account or just click on the links without making an account.  Its a wealth of information when it comes to sweepstakes.  I try to do it 30 minutes every other day. I think of it as my mini part-time job.

Like I said earlier , I'm keeping to my New Year's Resolution.  I work out every day and log all my food intake on Spark People (http://www.sparkpeople.com/).  My sis (+Teresa L) and my neighbor (+Nancy H) told me about it.  I also started using PB2 (powder peanut butter), sprouted bread, drinking more water and flavored seltzer water, and gave up all types of alcohol for Lent.  Wish me luck as I have 10 pounds to loose before Spring Break starts!

Do you still read magazines...like the kind that are delivered to your physical mailbox?  Well I do!  Call me old, but I enjoy reading them in bed or during a lazy Saturday!  Have you checked out + http://www.discountmags.com/?  I love this magazine website!!! They have awesome deals and you don't get "automatically" signed up for years and years of subscriptions.

I like drinking coffee...but don't like having to buy a bigger size of pants, so...

HAD TO PUBLISH THIS AS IT LISTS THE WORST COFFEE DRINKS!!

The 6 Worst Coffee Drinks

6. #6: Worst Chocolaty Coffee Drink: Starbucks Double Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino with Whole Milk and Whipped Cream (venti)

520 calories, 23 g fat (15 g saturated, 0.5 g trans), 350 mg sodium, 69 g sugars
Talk about double trouble. Within this chocolate calamity lurks three-quarters of your recommended daily intake of saturated fat, and as much sugar as you’ll find in 10 Rainbow Popsicles! Slash your calorie intake by switching to skim milk and cutting out the whipped cream. Knock the size down to a grande, and switch from the frappe to an iced mocha, and you’re looking at a drink with 350 fewer calories than when you started. Make a switch like that every single day, and you’ll lose about 6 pounds in two months!

Click here for all of today's nutrition, health, and fitness news!

Drink This Instead!

Grande Iced Caffe Mocha with Skim Milk (No Whipped Cream)

170 calories, 2.5 g fat (1.5 g saturated, 0 g trans), 70 mg sodium, 28 g sugars

5. #5: Worst Seasonal Coffee Drink: Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Gingerbread Latte (large)

450 calories, 12 g fat (7 g saturated), 290 mg sodium, 68 g sugars
This holiday horror packs a whopping 68 grams of sugar (that's as much as in three and a half Twinkies!) and almost a quarter of your daily calories. (Hope you weren’t planning to eat much today.) To enjoy the same chilly gingerbread coffee flavor, simply swap the latte for iced coffee and drop down a size. Suddenly, you’re looking at nearly half as much sugar and a far more digestible 270 calories.

Drink This Instead!

Iced Gingerbread Coffee with Cream (medium)

270 calories, 9 g fat (5 g saturated), 90 mg sodium, 36 g sugars

4. #4: Worst Caramel-Flavored Coffee Drink: McDonalds Caramel Latte with Whole Milk (large)

330 calories, 9 g fat (5 g saturated), 210 mg sodium, 51 g sugars
This caramel confection hides an unhealthy dose of sugar and an unnecessary amount of calories. But don’t blame the caramel flavoring entirely. Choose the flavored cappuccino instead for a fat-free, lower-calorie, lower-sugar alternative that will hit your sweet spot just the same. When given the choice, always opt for a cappuccino over a latte—they’re made with less milk than lattes, which means they’re lighter, with fewer calories.

Caramel Cappuccino with Skim Milk (medium)

190 calories, 0 g fat, 150 mg sodium, 41 g sugars

3. #3: Worst “Arctic” Coffee Drink: Cosi Double Oh! Arctic Mocha (12 oz)

434 calories, 22 g fat (13 g saturated), 241 mg sodium, 46 g sugars
This drink’s deliciousness is no excuse for its queasy dietary overload: as many calories as you’ll find in nine Chicken McNuggets, as much sugar as in three and a half bowls of Froot Loops, and as much saturated fat as in 13 strips of bacon. Get the same great taste with a quarter of the fat and 245 fewer calories by opting for an arctic latte instead. No need for all that superfluous chocolate—the latte is just as delicious without the extra baggage.

Drink This Instead!

Arctic Latte (12 oz)

189 calories, 5 g fat (3 g saturated), 124 mg sodium, 34 g sugars

2. #2: Worst Hot Chocolate Drink: Starbucks White Hot Chocolate with Whole Milk and Whipped Cream (venti)

640 calories, 28 g fat (18 g saturated, 0.5 g trans), 340 mg sodium, 78 g sugars
No one orders a hot chocolate and expects it to be anything but a dessert-like beverage. And certainly you should enjoy the occasional indulgence. But other times try this: Go with 2% milk (which is Starbucks' default unless you specify otherwise) and shave 50 calories from these numbers. Cut the whip and trim another 70. Downsize to a grande and shed 120 more. Or swap to a cinnamon dulce latte, and cut out hundreds of calories while still indulging in a deliciously sweet treat!

Is your drink making you fat? Lose weight without dieting. Buy Drink This, Not That! today.

Drink This Instead!

Cinnamon Dulce Latte (grande)

210 calories, 0 g fat, 135 mg sodium, 38 g sugars

1. #1: The Worst Coffee Drink in America: Cold Stone Creamery Lotta Caramel Latte, Gotta Have It Size

1,530 calories, 85 g fat (56 g saturated, 2 g trans), 161 g sugars
It may be coffee-flavored, but this latte shake is virtually unrecognizable next to your typical morning cup of Joe. It's simply a giant dessert drink disaster. This large shake has nearly a full day's worth of calories, as much saturated fat as you'll find in 62 strips of bacon, and you'll exceed your daily limit of trans fats in the few minutes it takes you to drink it. Oh, did I mention the ridiculous sugar load? (44 spoonfuls!) If you want a sweet, caramel latte taste, opt for the actual caramel latte at Cold Stone, not the shake. You'll cut more than 1,250 calories from your order!

Thanks for reading!

Lite Milk Caramel Latte, Love it Size

250 calories, 2.5 g fat (1.5 g saturated), 34 g sugars
