Head of the Cuyahoga is this Saturday!

My guess is that someone told you that their child is now rowing down in the flats and you have a ton of questions about it.  Well Saturday is the day to get all those questions answered!!

2016 Athletic Scholarship Averages for NCAA I Rowing Teams

Here are the results of our survey of NCAA I schools that sponsored Women's varsity Rowing  teams during their 2016 fiscal years. The results reflect the average number of athletic scholarships and the average award by responding  schools, as well as the low and high range for the number and average amount of awards per team:

Cleveland Indians win 20 in a row!

The Cleveland Indians won their 20th game in a row.  The funny thing is, if you listen to them talk, their attitudes are almost free and easy...like a Dierks Bentley song.   Their calm, cool, and playing great baseball.  Just like the song says... "Got the sun shining on me like a big spotlight.  So I know everything is gonna be alright." 

The Indians are chasing the MLB record.  I think they are one of the few teams, in the history of baseball, that would be able to accomplish this feat.

Tuesday night, in Cleveland, The Indians won 2-0 over the Detroit Tigers.  Although the Tigers have been struggling all year, the win was still memorable.  This 20th in-a-row win tied the 2002 Oakland A's American League winning streak. 

The pitching showdown will start again this afternoon when the Indians will play the Tigers.  21 straight wins are very attainable.  Can the Indians keep up the winning streak that began last month in Boston? Let's hope so!!

With a win today, the Indians can challenge the record held by the 1916 NY Giants. 26 wins in a row...that is the record held by the Giants.   It's the longest winning streak in history.  Can the Indians keep up the wins?  l know that all the Cleveland Indians fans will be rooting for them!

Here in Cleveland, there are tons of ways to save...  

One of my favorite WKYC TV  personalities and a regular on my all-time favorite radio station  WTAM 1100 is a gentleman named Matt Granite. Sure he's on the TV as well as the radio, but he's also AWESOME at finding great deals!!! He also has a You Tube channel.. 

Last week Matt posted great ways to save by telling us what to not buy until after Labor Day. I've loaded his YouTube link here.. He talks about how Labor Day weekend is a great time to buy mattresses, but a terrible time to buy bedding. He also says Labor Day is a great time to buy clothing, but a terrible time to buy shoes. Very informative. Great great great ways to save. 

With four kids one in college, I can always use ways to save money. Thank you Matt Granite for helping me save money on shoes, handbags, home improvement items, fitness trackers, headphones, and sheets for my college-aged son!!!  Please note that I plan on waiting until after Columbus Day to buy any fall jackets.
